Life

So here is a little update on my life and what has been going on lately. Still working and thinking about what my next move might be. I've been working with the United Way with their event planner and have been working on an event this Friday so that's exciting.

Something new is that me and Sean is going to be moving into a apartment July 1st, were both super excited about that. We thought we were going to be getting a really good deal on a two bed one bath but they changed their prices and with what was available we decided that we needed to change to a one bedroom one bathroom, so we wont get a craft room or anything like that but oh well it is what it is. We did get a third floor one thought so we get vaulted ceilings and a sky light, it will be nice just to be us now. We also decided to open a joint checking account so were on our way to being adults!

Pride is also coming up in a few weeks so were starting to set plans for that. Its always a fun time to get to see friends and hang out and just have a good time. So well go and have a gay 'ol time.

Well I guess thats about all I have time for now.
Im going to try to be better at this so we'll see how that goes.
Later for now

Long time...

Sorry it has been so long but its been a little busy around here. So here is the things that have been going on in my life since I wrote last.

1. The Holidays:
I had a really nice time with Sean's family again this year. They asked me to go to church with them on Christmas eve, which was actually really nice a little different since the last time I was in church was a long, long, long time ago...so after that we went back to his parents house and hung out and Sean and I spent the night (and OMG in the same bed too hahaha) and when we woke up we all had breakfast and hung out, opened presents and had a really nice time. Sean and I got each other the same sweater, and his sister and his parents got us the same griddle so it was a lot of fun. So all in all it was a great holiday.

2. Hawaii

Hawaii was fantastic! We did so many great things to write down but it was a great time and we had so much fun, well for the most part...had a little hickup with my parents after we spent all day in the airport so after that it was a little tense but it really was a great time!

3. Were Moving!
We have decided that we will be moving to Fort Collins sometime in the near future. We are looking to buy a house/condo/something like that, we have seen a few places but nothing that is everything were looking for so were still on the look out. Trying to find a place with enough room for a study space/office/craft room, a nice open kitchen and entertaining space, also enough space to have a dog. Im really ready to be done here and move on with our lives.

4. Anniversary
Sean and I celebrated out 3 year anniversary the other week. Since we started dating on leap year day we dont really have a true anniversary day so we celebrated by going up to the mountains and getting a cabin last weekend. We spend the weekend hanging out and just being together. It was a lot of fun! We also went snow shoeing, which neither of us have gone before and it was a great time.

Lets see other than that just the every day stuff life has been filled with a lot of good lately which I am very thankful for. I guess thats about it for not. Till next time!

Family

With the holidays coming soon around the corner I have been thinking about family a lot. Again this year I am not going to spending the holidays with my family and honesty I am ok with that. I really don't get along with a lot of my dads side of the family. I do wish I could see my grandparents but there just isnt enough time with having to work and the time it would take to drive there. so anyway I'm going to stay in Colorado and spend Thanksgiving and Christmas with Sean's family. This will make three Thanksgiving's and two Christmas's with them. I am really starting to feel like one of the family when I am with them. They have been so warm and welcoming to me that I really do feel like they are part of my family too. Last years Christmas was the one that I did not spend with my parents so his parents invited me to spend it with them and it was so much fun, they had a stocking for me and everything. I'm so lucky to have such a nice bunch of people as "in-laws" (I guess that's what I should call them...I don't know what else) but they are really wonderful and fabulous people I just wish that some of my family would care that much for Sean as Sean's care for me.

I think that's about it. Its time for me to go to bed.
Hope you all have a wonderful night

It Gets Better

After watching those "It gets better" videos I thought I would just share my story with anyone who actually reads this.

I came out to my best friend the summer after my senior year of high school. I told him because we were going to be roommates when we moved to college and I thought that he should know. After that he also told me that he was gay. We decided to date and during that time I came out to my parents, I told my mom first when my parents and grandparents came to visit me. We had went shopping and when we got back to the hotel room they were staying at I told her that I liked guys, I thought she would have already known but I guess she had no idea and started crying and was not very happy about it. I then went back to my dorm and we meet up later for supper and I guess in between she had told my dad who at the time seemed to take it better than my mom did.

After coming out a lot of things happened, my parents were not happy about my "choice." My dad especially has had a hard time dealing with it. He has turned to religion to try to deal with this, but I really do not think it has helped either of us, in fact it has caused a lot of strain on our relationship, even to the point of not being allowed to "be gay" in his presence. Even though with the difficulties with my parents there are good things that have come out of it.

I decided to move out of my hometown and move to Colorado to continue school and start a new chapter in my life. I moved here by myself and not knowing anyone, it was one of the most liberating experiences in my life. I have meet so many great people during that part of my life, I do not consider some of them my friends anymore but I do believe that they were in my life for a reason and helped me in different ways. I was also able to meet Sean over two and a half years ago and I could not be happier with another man.

There has been a lot of things that has happened in my life, some moments that I am not the proudest of, some moments that I will remember forever, but I would never trade any of those moments because of the good and the bad they have made me the man that I am today. I just want to say to anyone out there who is having a hard time with anything in your life, just be tough and make it through; because I know that it does get better so much better.

Aloha

So it is not a little bit less of two months that I'm going to be going to Hawaii with my parents and Sean. I am so excited! We have some things planned that we want to do. We have a four hour snorkeling trip planned followed by a luau that night. I also thing that Sean and I are going to be doing a walking food tour it is called "Hole-In-The-Wall Tour." I'm really excited about that, it will be really fun to go to all those places that you probably wouldn't make it too and have some really fun food. After three days in Honolulu we fly to the big island for four more days. We haven't really planned anything for there yet, I would like to rent some mopeds and drive around but other than that we are just going to do whatever we want. So that is the plan so far but I cant wait. I just hope that it all goes well with my parents...but I think that it will. Just hope that they calm down a little and it will all be perfect. Well I think that is about it for now.
